Not too long ago BOI Research Services went to the Borobudur temple in Central Java, Indonesia. For those who have never heard of it, it is a beautifully constructed Buddhist monument. This great monument was built in the 8th and 9th century. For a long period the temple was hidden and protected by the jungle until the moment it was fully re-discovered again in 1885. Nowadays this UNESCO World Heritage listed monument attracts millions and millions of visitors every year. Most of them domestic visitors.
This is a great source of income for the exploiters of the temple. However, what is little known is that the area itself has enough to offer to spend a relaxing or active long weekend. BOI, however, did know this and therefore decided to celebrate their fourth anniversary there. Three full days were taken to discover what the area and its community has to offer. From good food combined with a beautiful view on the temple to rescuing colleagues from drowning in the wild river. In Borobudur you can experience it all.
